The 17th-century parish church in Calasiao, about 7 km south of Dagupan, is one of the best-preserved Spanish-era churches in the region. The squat brick bell tower with its octagonal upper stage is the standout — visibly older than the body of the church and a textbook example of early Spanish colonial brickwork.
Visit for an hour combined with the famous puto Calasiao — small steamed rice cakes that are sold from every stall in town and are widely held to be the best in the Philippines.
