The Ketagalan Culture Center is a municipal museum devoted to Taiwan's indigenous peoples, named for the Ketagalan, the lowland plains group who once lived around the Taipei basin and gave Beitou its name (from a word meaning 'witch'). Several floors of exhibits cover the island's recognised indigenous groups — their crafts, textiles, music and beliefs — alongside changing shows and a research library.
It stands beside Xinbeitou metro station at the foot of the hot-spring valley, an easy and free addition to a Beitou day. Closed Mondays.
