The Puppetry Art Center of Taipei is a municipal museum and theatre devoted to budaixi, the Taiwanese glove-puppet tradition, and to puppetry more widely across Asia. The galleries display elaborately costumed puppets, carved heads, miniature stages and the gongs and props of the travelling troupes, and the centre runs regular performances and hands-on workshops.
It is a modest but engaging stop in the eastern Songshan district, good with children and an easy add-on to a visit to the nearby Songshan Cultural Park. Closed Mondays.
