Wuliaojian is one of the tougher ridge hikes in the hills around Sanxia, with steep rock sections, fixed ropes, and exposed knife-edge views. It is a proper half-day outing rather than a casual stroll, and the reward is a run of open mountain panoramas above the forested valleys.
Go only in dry weather, bring gloves for the ropes, and carry more water than you think you need. The main route takes experienced hikers around six hours; beginners should choose an easier trail nearby.
