Beyazid I Mosque belongs to the early Ottoman fabric that makes Bursa so rewarding. It is connected with Sultan Bayezid I, whose reign came before Istanbul became the imperial capital, when Bursa was still central to Ottoman ambition and identity.
The mosque is quieter than the Ulu Cami, but that can be an advantage. Visit for the proportions, the neighbourhood setting, and the sense of Bursa as a city of layered royal foundations rather than one single grand monument.
