Akhan Caravanserai sits east of Denizli, a stone Seljuk roadside inn from the era when caravans crossed Anatolia between market towns and ports. Compared with the ruins at Hierapolis or Laodicea it is small, but its purpose is easy to read: thick walls, a courtyard, and the practical geometry of a place built for merchants, animals, and safety.
It is best visited as a short stop if you have a car or are already moving through the Denizli plain. The caravanserai adds a different layer to the region, shifting the story from hot springs and ancient cities to medieval trade.
