Ladies Beach — Kadınlar Denizi in Turkish — is the busiest of Kuşadası's town beaches, a long sweep of sand and shingle two kilometres south of the centre. The name reportedly comes from an earlier era when one side of the beach was reserved for women, though that custom is long gone.
The strip is lined with sun-bed concessions, family restaurants, and small hotels. The water is clean and the slope shallow, which makes it popular with families. It is not a remote, romantic beach — there is a busy road behind it — but for a swim and a long lunch it works well. Get there early in August to find space.
