The oldest and largest urban park in Abu Dhabi, opened in 1982 in the Mushrif district and substantially redesigned in 2015. Inside the walls are formal gardens, a botanical pavilion, a small animal barn that doubles as a children's zoo, an amphitheatre, and the original lawn where Abu Dhabi families have been holding picnics for forty years.
There is a small admission fee in the evenings. Best from October to April when the gardens are at their peak and outside sitting is comfortable.
