An Bang Beach

The better of Hoi An's two beaches — quieter, less eroded

A broad sandy beach 5 km north of the Old Town, reached by bicycle along a flat road through rice paddies. An Bang has fared better than Cua Dai against coastal erosion and is noticeably less built-up. A handful of beach bars and simple seafood restaurants line the back of the beach; the coconut water vendors and sunbeds are here, but so is enough space to find a quiet spot. Best from April to September — the rest of the year the waves and currents are unpredictable. Bicycle from town takes about 20 minutes.
