Hoi An is well known for its tailors, who work quickly and at reasonable prices. Custom suits, dresses, and shirts can be turned around in as little as half a day, though allowing a day or two for fittings produces better results. Shops are concentrated along Nguyen Duy Hieu Street and the surrounding lanes of the Old Town.
Beyond tailoring, the market and surrounding streets sell lacquerware, lanterns, silk, and ceramics. Prices are low by regional standards but bargaining is expected outside the fixed-price shops.
