A street-front stall on Phan Chau Trinh that has been serving bánh mì since 1989. The sandwiches are loaded — pork, pâté, pickled vegetables, coriander, chilli — and cost almost nothing. Anthony Bourdain filmed here and called it the best bánh mì in the world, which brought queues that have not entirely gone away. The sandwiches are very good and very cheap; the fame is justified. Go before 11am or expect to wait.
