Cua Dai Beach

Hoi An's closest beach, though erosion has taken a toll in recent years

The nearest beach to the Old Town, 5 km east along a straight cycling road through the paddies. Cua Dai used to be the obvious beach choice but significant erosion over the past decade has eaten into the shoreline, and sandbags and sea walls now mar parts of the beach. Still fine for a swim, and the bicycle ride there and back is pleasant in itself. An Bang (further north) is a better option if you have the time. Safe for swimming from April to September; avoid during the stormy season (October to March).
