Talinguru Nyakunytjaku

Sunrise viewing area for Uluru

Talinguru Nyakunytjaku — "place to look from the sand dunes" — is the park's purpose-built sunrise viewing area on the eastern side of Uluru, with a network of raised platforms and short paths that thin out the crowds. From here you can see both Uluru and, on the western horizon, the silhouette of Kata Tjuta.

Get there at least half an hour before sunrise, dress warmly in winter (frost is not uncommon), and walk a few minutes past the main platform to escape the coach groups.
