Wintjiri Wiru, opened in 2023, is a drone-and-light show that retells part of the Mala (rufous hare-wallaby) ancestral story across the night sky above the dunes near Yulara. More than a thousand drones form moving figures, alongside laser projections and a soundtrack of voices, didgeridoo and bullroarer.
The show is officially sanctioned by the Anangu of Mutitjulu, who licensed the story specifically for the production. Tickets include a sunset platform, food and drink; it runs nightly weather permitting.
