Caloundra Regional Gallery is the Sunshine Coast’s main public gallery, with a programme of changing exhibitions rather than a big permanent collection. It gives Caloundra a cultural stop beyond beaches, boardwalks, and surf clubs, and often draws on Queensland and Australian contemporary art.
This is a good bad-weather or slow-morning option if you are based at the southern end of the coast. Check the current exhibition before making a special trip; when the show is strong, it adds welcome depth to a holiday region that can otherwise feel all sand and cafes.
