Glass House Mountains Lookout gives one of the easiest broad views of the volcanic plugs that rise from the Sunshine Coast hinterland. From the high ground you can pick out the main peaks at once, including the paired shapes that are harder to understand from the roads below.
It is a drive rather than a casual stroll from the coastal towns, but that is part of the appeal. Bring a camera, and aim for clear weather; haze can flatten the whole scene.
