Port Broughton

Small Spencer Gulf fishing town with a long jetty, tidal walks, and Yorke Peninsula holiday calm.

Port Broughton is a small fishing and holiday town at the northern end of Yorke Peninsula, looking over the sheltered shallows of Spencer Gulf. It is not grand, and that is the point: the pace is slow, the water is tidal, and the town still feels tied to boats, grain, crabs, and summer shacks.

The spare-day case is simple. Walk the historic jetty, follow the coastal path toward Fisherman Bay, browse the Heritage Centre, then sit with the gulf in front of you. It is a good pause if you are working your way around Yorke Peninsula or cutting between the Copper Coast and Port Augusta.

Port Broughton is less convincing as a long detour from Adelaide. Treat it as a small coastal day rather than a bucket-list destination.
