The squat, white-painted Gothic Revival church on Peel Terrace was built between 1844 and 1845 by the early Bussell-family settlers, using local stone and timber. It is the oldest stone-built church still standing in Western Australia, and the surrounding churchyard holds graves of most of the founding pioneer families of the district.
The interior is plain and beautiful — whitewashed walls, dark jarrah pews, a small stained-glass east window. Generally open during daylight hours.
