Suva Handicraft Market

A long covered hall on the harbour side of Stinson Parade, full of stalls selling wood carvings, woven mats, masi (bark cloth), shell jewellery, and the inevitable racks of printed sulus. Quality varies wildly — much of what is sold as "Fijian" was actually made in the Solomons or further afield — but a careful eye finds real things, especially older carved tanoa bowls and turtle-shaped serving platters.

Bargain politely; first prices are typically 50–100 % above what the vendor will accept. The hall is open all week but quieter in the afternoons.
