By air. Suva's Nausori International Airport is 23 kilometres northeast of the centre and handles domestic flights from Nadi as well as a few short regional routes. Most international travellers arrive at Nadi on the other side of Viti Levu and either fly across (35 minutes) or drive.
By road from Nadi. The Queen's Road runs along the south coast through Sigatoka and the Coral Coast — about four hours by car or five by bus. Pacific Transport, Sunbeam, and Coral Sun all run multiple daily services. The King's Road, around the north of the island, takes longer and is less scenic.
By sea. The inter-island ferries from Kadavu, Taveuni, Vanua Levu, and the Lau Group dock in Walu Bay, north of the centre. Schedules are unpredictable and the boats slow but cheap.
