When to Go

Suva is the wettest city in Fiji — sometimes more than three metres of rain a year — and the wet season runs from November through April. Expect heavy afternoon thunderstorms most days during this period, with occasional cyclones in January and February.

The dry season, May to October, is more comfortable: temperatures hover around 25°C, the rain is less frequent, and the humidity drops a little. July and August are the most pleasant months. If you can choose, time your visit to coincide with the Hibiscus Festival in mid-August, which fills Albert Park with food stalls, music, and a beauty pageant that the entire country pays attention to.
