Things to Do

Suva is a working capital, not a resort, and its pleasures are urban rather than tropical. The colonial-era core along Victoria Parade runs from Albert Park and the Grand Pacific Hotel down through the Government Buildings to the busy crossroads at Sukuna Park. The Fiji Museum and Thurston Gardens are the cultural anchor; the Suva Municipal Market is the working heart of the city. Wander in the morning before the rain — there is almost always rain — and end at one of the cafés along the seafront.
