Ashtarak has a handful of places to eat, mostly serving traditional Armenian food. The most famous is the Ashtaraki Dzor complex just outside town, a riverside restaurant that has been a local institution for years. In the town itself, small cafés and simple restaurants cater mostly to locals and serve solid, unfussy food. Don't expect a wide choice — but what's on offer tends to be good.
