Surb Marine Church dates from the late 13th century and stands among Ashtarak's cluster of old churches above the Kasagh River. Its best feature is the umbrella-shaped dome, a light and elegant piece of Armenian church architecture. It is an easy addition to a walk that also takes in Karmravor and the river gorge.
