Getting There

Salzburg Airport is the nearest international airport, around 80km north, with connections across Europe. Munich Airport is around 180km away and has a wider range of international routes. Both are reached by motorway.

By train, Zell am See sits on the Salzburg–Bischofshofen–Innsbruck line with direct services from Salzburg (around 1.5 hours) and connections from Vienna (around 4 hours with a change). The station is in the town centre, 5 minutes' walk from the lake.

By road from Salzburg, take the A10 south to Bischofshofen, then the B311. The journey takes around an hour in normal conditions; allow extra time in ski season.
