Shopping in Zell am See is oriented around ski and outdoor equipment — several sports shops on Schmittenstrasse and in the town centre rent and sell ski gear, technical clothing, and alpine equipment. Intersport has a large branch in the town centre. For everyday needs, there are supermarkets near the station.
Austrian souvenirs — Lederhosen, dirndls, carved wooden items, Mozartkugeln chocolates — are available in the old town gift shops. For more varied shopping, Salzburg (80km north) has a proper pedestrian shopping district and department stores.
