Old Town Teahouse

Traditional çayxana in the historic quarter, good for a rest after sightseeing

One of a handful of teahouses operating in Ordubad's old quarter, this one sits close to the main mosque cluster and makes a natural stopping point between the Saatabad and Juma mosques. Tea is served in the traditional Azerbaijani style — small armudu glasses, black tea, sugar cubes on the side — and the shaded courtyard provides welcome relief from the summer heat. The clientele is almost entirely local men; solo women travellers may find teahouses more comfortable to visit with a companion or guide, though you will be served without issue.
