Ordubad's historic centre is compact and entirely walkable. The three main mosques, the history museum, and the old town streets can all be covered on foot within a few hours. The terrain is hilly — Ordubad is built on slopes above the valley floor — so expect some climbing between the lower bazaar area and the upper residential lanes.
For the orchards and surrounding villages, a taxi is the practical option. Drivers in the town centre can be hired for half-day or full-day trips to the outlying orchards and the approaches to Ordubad National Park. Agree a price before setting off; there are no meters.
The train station is almost 4 kilometres south of the town centre — too far to walk comfortably with luggage. A local taxi between the station and the centre is the standard solution.
