Mastrinka is a small fishing village on the northern coast of Čiovo, facing the passage toward Trogir. It is calmer than Okrug Gornji and attracts fewer package tourists, which makes it one of the better places on the island to get a sense of everyday Dalmatian life: boats tied up along the waterfront, nets drying in the sun, a handful of locals sitting outside in the evening.
The waterfront here is pleasant for a walk at any time of day. A few small konobas — traditional Dalmatian taverns — serve fresh fish grilled simply with olive oil and herbs, and you can usually count on catching the sight of something being brought in from the sea nearby. It is the kind of place that rewards no particular plan.
Mastrinka is also a practical base: it is on the road between Trogir and Okrug Gornji, so easy to pass through, and the surrounding coast has some quieter swimming spots away from the bigger beaches.
