Zelena Laguna

Pine-shaded resort beach four kilometres south of town

The largest of the resort beaches south of Porec, Zelena Laguna — Green Lagoon — is a long crescent of pebbles and concrete bathing platforms backed by Aleppo pines. Calm, shallow water on the south side makes it good for kids; the north end has a Blue Flag beach with the cleanest swimming. Lounger and umbrella rental is cheap, beach bars are scattered along the path, and pedalos and SUPs can be hired in a dozen places.

Zelena Laguna can be reached on foot via a coastal promenade (about 45 minutes from the old town) or by the regular tourist train and boat shuttles that run from the harbour. Outside July and August it is quiet enough that you can find a stretch to yourself.
