Porec's old town is essentially an open-air museum. The Roman street plan is still readable, medieval towers guard the corners of the peninsula, and the Euphrasian Basilica is one of the finest Byzantine monuments in the Mediterranean. Most sights are within a few minutes' walk of each other along the Decumanus, the ancient main street.
