A small lay-by on the coast road just north of the Šibenik Bridge, signed as Panorama Viewpoint. The 1966 cable-stayed bridge soars 38 metres above the channel and is itself a piece of Yugoslav engineering history; from the viewpoint you look down it towards the old town in the distance, with the channel and the island of Zlarin spread out below.
This is more of a quick stop than a destination, but if you are arriving from Zadar by car it is worth pulling over for the first proper view of Šibenik. Late afternoon, when the sun is on the bay, is the best time.
