Soline is a small village at the narrow channel connecting the Great Lake (Veliko jezero) of Mljet National Park to the sea. The channel's current is strong enough to feel when swimming, and the water here is famously warm and clear — one of the best swimming spots on the island.
The village itself is just a handful of houses, a small restaurant or two, and a dock where boats moor. It's a peaceful alternative base to Polače or Pomena for exploring the national park on foot or by bike. The Benedictine monastery on the islet in the middle of the Great Lake is a short boat ride away.
