By air, Split International Airport (Resnik, 20 km west of the city) is Croatia's second-busiest airport and the main gateway to Dalmatia. It has flights from most major European cities, particularly in summer, when low-cost carriers add a blizzard of seasonal routes. A regular airport bus runs into the city centre. By road, Split is 380 km from Zagreb via the A1 motorway (about 4 hours), and a similar distance from Ljubljana and Venice. By bus, a large and efficient coach network connects Split to every major town in the Balkans — Dubrovnik (4 hours), Zagreb (6 hours), Sarajevo (8 hours), Belgrade (12 hours). By train, overnight sleeper services from Zagreb still run in summer, though the bus is usually faster. By ferry, Split is the biggest passenger port on the Adriatic: catamarans and car ferries leave every day for Brač, Hvar, Vis, Šolta, Korčula, Dubrovnik and Ancona in Italy.
