Split's most interesting shopping is inside the walls of Diocletian's palace, where dozens of small workshops and galleries sell Croatian ceramics, silver and amber jewellery, handmade leather, and the local olive oils, wines and cured hams. Marmontova, the wide pedestrian street running west from the Riva, is the main branded shopping drag. Don't miss the Green Market (Pazar) on the eastern side of the palace — a daily open-air market for fresh fruit, cheese, olive oil, honey, pršut (dry-cured ham) and lavender sachets from the nearby islands — and the Fish Market (Ribarnica) a few blocks west.
