Vesterbro Torv is the main square of Vesterbro, surrounded by late 19th-century apartment buildings and lined with outdoor café seating in summer. The square has been renovated several times as the neighbourhood gentrified — it is now the kind of place where the local food market sets up on Sundays and residents walk their dogs in the morning.
The square is a good base for exploring the surrounding streets — Gammel Kongevej to the north has independent shops and restaurants, while Istedgade and the Meatpacking District are a short walk to the south and west.
