Bear's Nest Stone

Bear's Nest Stone is a large boulder with a small cave-like hollow beneath it, wrapped in the kind of local story that makes a roadside nature stop more memorable. According to the tale, a traveller once took shelter there during a snowstorm and woke to find he had shared the space with a bear.

It is a modest sight, but a satisfying one if you are already moving through the Inari area and want a short walk with a bit of Sámi-country folklore attached.
