Otsamotunturi rises to 414 metres about eight kilometres west of Inari village, the easiest of the surrounding fells to climb. A marked path leaves from a parking area on Highway 4, climbing through pine forest into open fell-top tundra at the summit. The walk is about 3.5 kilometres each way; the round trip takes around three hours at an unhurried pace.
The summit is bald and rocky, with a small stone shelter — useful in bad weather — and a long panoramic view in all directions: Lake Inari to the east, the Lemmenjoki wilderness to the south, the broad expanse of open fells to the north. A favourite spot in late summer for cloudberry pickers; in winter the route is a popular cross-country ski tour.
