Auditorium de Lyon

Part-Dieu concert hall and home of the Orchestre national de Lyon.

The Auditorium de Lyon is the dedicated concert hall of the Orchestre national de Lyon, set in Part-Dieu beneath the district's office towers. Built in the 1970s, it has the assertive concrete presence of that era and a 2,100-seat hall used for symphonic concerts, recitals, film concerts, jazz, and visiting performers.

Lyon has older and prettier theatres, but the Auditorium is where the city's serious orchestral life is concentrated. It is worth checking the calendar if you are staying near Part-Dieu or want an evening that feels local rather than tourist-shaped; the venue is easy to reach by metro, tram, or a short walk from the station.
