Église Saint-Michel

The Church of Saint-Michel has the most flamboyant Renaissance facade of any church in Burgundy — a three-bay frontispiece built between 1530 and 1600 onto an earlier Gothic nave. The west front is a riot of classical orders, statues, garlands, and reliefs. The three porches are framed by columns rising through three tiers, topped by a pair of slim towers.

The interior is calmer: a single broad nave with side chapels, and a fine 16th-century pulpit. The church sits on a quiet square in the old town. Free entry; the lights inside are coin-operated.
