Acchiardo is an old-town institution, a family-run trattoria on Rue Droite that has been serving straightforward Niçois food since 1927. The menu is short, handwritten daily, and changes with what the kitchen has: stockfish stew, raviolis aux herbes, daube, and gnocchi in the Niçois style. Prices are honest and the atmosphere is without pretension — paper tablecloths, wine from unlabelled pitchers, and a clientele of locals who have been eating here for decades.
Dinner on a Tuesday when the tourists have thinned out is a particularly good experience. The kitchen closes firmly at 9:30pm and there is no menu in English.
