Chateau de Fleville is a Renaissance chateau just south of Nancy, with a tall medieval keep, elegant later wings, and landscaped grounds. It gives a gentler counterpoint to Nancy's urban showpieces around Place Stanislas.
The chateau is best treated as a short countryside excursion. Check seasonal opening times before going, then allow time for the gardens as well as the architecture; the setting is a large part of the pleasure.
