Across the courtyard from the Musée de la Marine, the ethnography museum reconstructs daily Norman life of past centuries through a dozen period rooms — a weaver's workshop, a farm kitchen, a 19th-century pharmacy, a Norman bedroom complete with the high-sided armoires the region is famous for. The building is partly a Renaissance house and partly the former municipal prison; the prison cells form the final part of the route.
Small but unexpectedly absorbing. Buy a combined ticket if you also plan to visit the Marine.
