Drinking in Oberammergau is mostly hotel beer gardens and small village cafes serving Kaffee und Kuchen in the afternoon. The Maximilian's brewery garden is the best evening spot in the village; Hotel Alte Post is the choice in the centre for an afternoon beer with a view of the painted facades. There is no real late-night scene — the village goes to bed early.
