Niederwald-Tempel is a small classical temple in the parkland above Rüdesheim, between the cable car station and the Niederwald Monument. Built in 1788 as a scenic attraction, it became a favourite Rhine viewpoint for Romantic-era writers and musicians.
The present temple is a reconstruction, reopened in 2006 after the original was destroyed during World War Two. It is best visited as part of the ridge walk around the Niederwald Monument.
