Sellin Pier

The Seebrücke at Sellin is the most photographed pier on the German Baltic — 394 metres of timber walkway with an ornate, white-and-blue restaurant pavilion at the seaward end. The current structure dates from 1998, a faithful reconstruction of the original 1925 pier that succumbed to ice and storms.

Behind the pier, a long wooden staircase descends from the cliff-top promenade through pine and beech woods to the beach. Sellin itself is quieter and more residential than Binz, with the same Bäderarchitektur lining Wilhelmstraße but on a smaller scale. The pier restaurant is touristy but the view from the end at sunset is the point.
