A late-Gothic hall church at the southern edge of the old town, dedicated to St Mauritius (Moritz in German). It was built between 1388 and the early 16th century and survived the war largely intact.
Inside, the late-medieval stone sculpture is the main draw — the so-called Magdalenenaltar and a series of saints attributed to the sculptor Conrad of Einbeck, who worked in Halle in the early 15th century. The church is plainer than the Marktkirche and rarely busy. Free entry.
