Halle's sights cluster tightly around the Marktplatz and spread north along the Saale toward the medieval Giebichenstein castle. The five towers, the Marktkirche, and Handel's birthplace are the must-sees; the Moritzburg and the Francke Foundations reward a second day. Most of the centre can be walked in a long afternoon.
