Boat Trip to Ithaca

Ithaca is visible from Fiskardo across a narrow strait — on a clear day you can see its mountains clearly. Water taxis and small tour boats make the crossing regularly in summer, taking around 20 to 30 minutes to reach Kioni or Frikes on the Ithaca side. This is one of the most rewarding half-day trips available from Fiskardo.

Ithaca is quieter and less developed than Cephalonia, with clear water and walking paths through the hills. The connection to Homer is largely mythological — scholars have debated for centuries whether this is really Odysseus's island — but the landscape is beautiful regardless. Boats can be hired privately or you can join a shared excursion from the harbour; ask at the tavernas for current schedules and prices.
