Byzantine Museum

Fiskardo's Byzantine Museum occupies a restored building near the harbour and houses finds from the area including Byzantine pottery, icons, and architectural fragments. It is small — an hour is plenty — but the collection is genuinely interesting, particularly the ceramics recovered from shipwrecks in the surrounding waters.

The museum provides useful context for the village's long history. Fiskardo sits on a strait that has been a shipping lane since antiquity, and the exhibits reflect layers of occupation from the Byzantine through Venetian periods. Opening hours are limited outside of summer; check locally before making a special trip.
